Application
Angiographic catheters are used for angiography, which is an imaging technique that allows doctors to see inside blood vessels. These catheters are inserted into a vein and advanced into the artery under fluoroscopic guidance. Angiography is used to visualize arteries and veins for diagnosis of occlusive vascular disease, arterial insufficiency, peripheral vascular disease, aneurysms, and other conditions.
Angiographic catheters consist of a balloon, guiding wire (or tip), inflation lumen or port, contrast injection lumen or port (optional), stylet holder (optional), guidewire holder (optional).
