1. The micro catheter is inserted into the vein or artery through a small incision in the skin.
2. The catheter is guided through the vascular system to its final position in the heart or elsewhere in the body.
3. A contrast material (dye) is injected into the bloodstream through the same catheter to allow for imaging of blood vessels and organs (angiography).
4. Once the imaging procedure is complete, any remaining contrast material is removed from your body by flushing out with saline solution via an intravenous line that is connected directly to your blood vessel.
